The establishment dates back to 1953, when the company Gemerská mliekarne was established on the site of the former vinegar factory. In 1954, this enterprise ceased to exist and was incorporated into the Banskobystrica dairies in Zvolen. The original capacity of 80,000 liters of milk per day was gradually expanded to 240,000 liters of milk per day during the initial heat treatment. The establishment of an independent company dates back to 1991. In 2007, it became part of the French Senoble group. In 2023 the dairy was bought by a new owner and plans to gradually expand and modernize the production facilities as well as export to neighboring countries outside of Slovakia.
